Thinking of enrolling your child at Women’s League? Take the first step

Ways to Give

The research is clear: preschool has a lasting, positive impact on children, their families, and society. Your gift to Women’s League gives Hartford’s youngest children—particularly those from families of lower incomes—access to top-quality early education in our state-of-the-art Center.

Women’s League is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws.

Honor Someone Special
While Giving to Women’s League

When you make a donation to Women’s League in honor or in memory of someone, you give a unique gift that gives a child a wonderful start in life while honoring someone special to you.  We will send a special letter to the person you honor to tell them about your thoughtful gift. You can donate online or by printing and completing our donation form and mailing us a check.

Ask Your Employer to
Match Your Gift

Many employers will match your donation or will contribute to a charity where you volunteer! Check with your employer to learn more about matching gift programs; you can also check here. It’s often as simple as completing a brief form and your gift to Women’s League could be doubled or tripled. Retired employees are often eligible for an employer match, too.

Host a Facebook Fundraiser
to Benefit Women’s League

Why not ask your friends to donate to Women’s League in honor of your birthday or another special occasion? In less than five minutes, you can set it up on Facebook.  Click Fundraisers in the left sidebar menu of your News Feed, scroll through the list of nonprofits until you find Women’s League (in Hartford, Conn.), set a goal, and you’re off and running! Facebook will collect all the money and forward the donations to Women’s League in about 45 days—and there’s no extra fee.

Make a Grant from your
Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund is a tax-smart investment that allows you to make a charitable contribution to the Alliance while receiving an immediate tax benefit. Contact your financial advisor to learn more about this increasingly popular charitable giving vehicle.

Put Women’s League
in Your Will

You can make a bequest to Women’s League by including language in your will or living trust leaving a portion of your estate to our organization. Or, you can designate Women’s League as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy. To arrange a bequest from your will or trust, simply contact your estate-planning attorney to create or amend the necessary legal documents.

Below is an example of bequest language that might be used:
“I give to Women’s League Child Development Center, a nonprofit organization located at 1695 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut 06120 (Federal Tax ID No. 06-0646969), [the sum of $_______ or ___% of my estate] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”
