Job Openings for Teachers

Join a staff of professional early childhood educators at the NAEYC-accredited Women’s League Child Development Center. We have provided a high-quality program to Hartford’s children and families for over 100 years! Our beautiful facility in Hartford’s Clay Arsenal neighborhood has six School Readiness Preschool classrooms, nine Toddler Rooms, two Infant Rooms and a newly opened STEAM Learning Lab.

    • Teacher: Full-time position, 35+ hours per week, with generous benefits. Lead a dynamic, three-teacher classroom team; provide creative, challenging and fun-filled learning experiences for preschoolers; oversee documentation, assessment, and curriculum planning, using Creative Curriculum, CTELDS and DOTS. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education OR bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 credits in early childhood education. Salary is commensurate with educational level and experience.

    • Assistant Teachers-Preschool and Toddlers: Full-time positions, 35+ hours per week, with generous benefits. Be part of a classroom teaching team, sharing in observation, assessment and curriculum planning. 

Requirements: Associate degree in early childhood education OR 30 early childhood education credits + 3 years teaching experience. Familiarity with CTELDS and DOTS is a plus. Salary is commensurate with educational level and experience.

    • Teacher Aide:  Full time position, 35+ hours per week. Are you fascinated by cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development? Do you love to sing, rhyme, speak, laugh, and read with children? We are looking for an energetic and nurturing candidate. A CDA + 15 ECE. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

       

    • Per Diem Substitute:  Are you an early childhood education student who has experience with young children and is available to be on call as a substitute? This position is offered per diem, as needed by the center, with no guaranteed number of hours.
